Tape Re-conditioning

Our DLT tapes go through a rigorous process to become fully "re-conditioned". Our warranty for fully Re-Conditioned tapes is "same as new", and mirror all manufacturer warranties.

Only tapes that successfully pass all phases of the process can be sold as Re-Conditioned:

A visual and hands-on inspection identifies any mechanical or cosmetic defects.

Any labels or barcodes are removed.

All data is destroyed using a high-power degaussing unit - prior to ever being read or written to. This insures the security and confidentiality of the data.

Tapes are cleaned to remove any dirt or loose particles and re-tensioned within the cartridge.

A small amount of data is written to the tape and tested to insure the performance of the tape. Acceptance standards used are higher than the original OEM standards for new tapes.

Re-packaging includes a new case, new j-card insert, security seal, and shrink-wrap.

Re-conditioned tapes will be recognized and treated by the drive the same as any totally blank, new tape.

Should the product prove defective in workmanship or material, the seller will replace it at no charge. The warranty does not cover damage or defect due to accident, misuse, abuse, or neglect.
